Advance Payment Application for One Year Tax from 16th to 31st...Promoting Taxpayer Convenience Policies such as Mobile App, CD/ATM, and Convenience Store Easy Payment
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it will accept applications for annual prepayment of automobile tax from the 16th to the 31st.
The automobile tax annual prepayment system allows taxpayers to pay the automobile tax, which is levied every June and December, as an annual amount in advance, and deducts 10% of the prepayment period.
Last year, a 10% deduction was applied for prepayment in January, but from 2021, a 10% deduction is applied from February to December excluding January, so the actual deduction amount is 9.15% of the annual amount.
Applications can be made through the Seoul Metropolitan Government local tax internet payment system (ETAX), the mobile app Seoul Tax Payment (STAX), or by applying to the Automobile Tax Team of the Local Income Tax Division in Gwanak-gu.
If you prepaid your automobile tax last year, the bill will be sent automatically without a separate application, and if ownership is transferred or the vehicle is scrapped after prepayment, the tax amount after that date will be refunded.
The district announced that it will send annual prepayment bills to vehicles that have already applied and paid for annual prepayment, and accept applications from all vehicle owners subject to automobile tax during the relevant period.
In addition, for the convenience of residents, payment convenience policies such as ETAX, simple payment companies (KakaoPay, Naver Pay, Payco, etc.), STAX mobile app, CD/ATM machines, and convenience store simple payments will be promoted together.
Meanwhile, the number of automobile tax annual prepayment cases in January last year was 39,079, accounting for 32.1% of all eligible vehicles, and the number of applicants for annual prepayment is increasing every year.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I hope residents will prepay their automobile tax again this year and receive a discount benefit higher than the deposit interest rate of financial institutions. Since COVID-19 is still ongoing, I ask that various non-face-to-face payment methods be utilized.”
