New Year Integrated Discount Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] GS Retail-operated GS Fresh Mall, Dalli Salda, and Simply Cook recorded the highest-ever sales growth last year, fueled by the non-face-to-face food shopping trend. To celebrate this, they are also holding an integrated New Year discount event.
According to GS Retail on the 14th, the online grocery shopping mall GS Fresh Mall recorded its highest-ever sales, growing more than 72% compared to 2020. Easy-to-cook convenient food products such as Simply Cook grew by 110%, and ingredients including agricultural, livestock, and marine products showed an 83% growth trend. The number of new registered members also increased by 91% compared to the previous year. The organic online mall Dalli Salda, launched last October, saw December sales reach 2.4 times that of November, and the number of customers tripled during the same period.
GS Retail believes this reflects the consumption trends of customers seeking a convenient yet healthy lifestyle amid the overall changes in life, such as the increase in non-face-to-face grocery shopping and customers pursuing value consumption.
To commemorate this, from the 14th of this month, GS Fresh Mall & Dalli Salda will hold the ‘2021 Record-Breaking So(h)hwakhaeng Fresh Live Event.’ The live event will be held for two days starting at 11 a.m. for one hour each day. This event was planned to provide enjoyment and communication through live shopping in an environment where face-to-face shopping is difficult due to COVID-19.
On the 14th, GS Fresh Mall will sell 300g of U.S. beef chuck steak for 7,800 KRW. On the 15th, Dalli Salda’s 20 best-selling products will be sold at up to 50% discount. Participants in the live broadcast on the 15th will be entered into a draw to win a set of ceramic-coated knives including doganitang and schnitzel five-piece sets. Additionally, on the Dalli Salda app, from the 12th to the 17th, customers who purchase over 20,000 KRW can enter a Gold Calf 1 Don raffle event, and the first 2,000 customers who purchase over 30,000 KRW will receive a knee blanket as a gift.
