Kim Jung-ju, founder of Nexon and CEO of NXC, has invested in SpaceX, the aerospace company led by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.
According to industry sources on the 13th, NXC invested $16 million (approximately 17.5 billion KRW) in convertible preferred shares worth $1.9 billion (about 2 trillion KRW) newly issued by SpaceX in August last year. It is reported that NXC participated in a fund established by a domestic asset management company as a special purpose company (SPC), accounting for about 60% of the fund.
SpaceX, founded by Musk, is an aerospace company that marked a milestone in space exploration last May by sending the private manned spacecraft 'Falcon 9' to the International Space Station (ISS).
CEO Kim continues to invest in new business areas through NXC. Recently, there were reports that he is considering acquiring the cryptocurrency exchange 'Bithumb'.
