188 Tons of Snow Removal Materials and 28 Equipment Mobilized for Snow Removal on 28 Local Routes and Vulnerable Areas in 5 Operations... Minimizing Resident Inconvenience with Rapid Snow Removal on Yongmasan Jarak-gil and Mangu-san Dullegil
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, is working with residents to clear snow around the school route of Myeonil Elementary School in Mangu 3-dong.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has taken measures to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by heavy snowfall.
On the 12th, the district announced that it activated the Level 2 emergency snow removal operation in response to heavy snow accompanied by a cold wave, protecting the safety of residents through swift snow removal work.
First, to clear roads and prevent traffic accidents, 188 tons of snow removal materials including 88 tons of calcium chloride, 56 tons of salt, and 44 tons of eco-friendly materials, along with 28 large spreaders and other equipment, were mobilized to carry out snow removal operations five times on 27 routes including Mangu-ro and vulnerable areas.
Additionally, district office employees were dispatched to 16 community service centers to clear snow piled up in narrow back roads and alleys where vehicle access is difficult, ensuring safe walking paths for Jungnang-gu residents.
In particular, rapid snow removal was conducted at seven major hiking trails such as Yongmasan Jarakkil and Mangu Mountain Dulle-gil, 67 parks including Yongma Waterfall Park and Bonghwa Mountain Neighborhood Park, and facilities frequently used by residents such as the Jungnangcheon walking trail, minimizing residents' inconvenience.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi also participated in snow removal efforts around the school route of Myeonil Elementary School in Mangu 3-dong to ensure children's safety.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I thank the employees who worked hard and the residents who helped with the swift snow removal despite the cold weather,” adding, “We will continue to carefully manage vulnerable snow removal areas so that the elderly and children can walk safely.”
On the 6th, to prevent damage to residents caused by heavy snowfall, the district sent text messages encouraging participation in ‘Clearing Snow in Front of My House and Store’ and mobilized about 1,000 employees and residents to carry out meticulous snow removal work, receiving great response.
