[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Shim Eun-jin (40), formerly of Baby V.O.X, announced her marriage to actor Jeon Seung-bin (35), drawing attention as Jeon Seung-bin's ex-wife and actress Hong In-young (36) left a meaningful post.
After the news of Shim Eun-jin and Jeon Seung-bin's marriage was reported, on the 12th, Hong In-young posted a screenshot on Instagram of a scene from the movie Veteran where Jo Tae-oh (played by Yoo Ah-in) delivers the famous line "I am speechless."
In response, an acquaintance commented, "I am speechless," to which Hong In-young replied, "You will gradually understand."
The acquaintance then wrote, "I sincerely want to bless his new beginning, but too many things have happened, and the period of your pain overlaps with the time they met, which is chilling," adding, "It's okay, In-young, many good things will happen to you in the future."
Hong In-young responded, "He said 'It was also a year with many personal hardships.' Who? Me? It's me. So, it overlaps so strangely, wow," and expressed disbelief, saying, "They broke up in 2018, but the divorce was in April 2020. They should tell the story properly."
The acquaintance asked, "Are you a novelist?" and Hong In-young replied, "I have a lot to say but won't say it (Halmalhaman angetda)."
When another acquaintance commented, "Your acting skills are amazing," Hong In-young responded, "Just hypocrisy."
As Hong In-young's post spread, controversy grew regarding the timing of Jeon Seung-bin and Shim Eun-jin's relationship.
In this regard, Jeon Seung-bin's agency stated that Jeon Seung-bin did not divorce because of Shim Eun-jin, and the start of Jeon Seung-bin and Shim Eun-jin's relationship did not overlap with his marriage period to Hong In-young.
They added, "He has been separated from Hong In-young since 2019 and proceeded with the divorce process," drawing a clear line by saying he met Shim Eun-jin after the divorce.
Jeon Seung-bin's side also dismissed suspicions, stating that the timing of the divorce from Hong In-young and the dating period with Shim Eun-jin are unrelated.
Earlier that day, it was announced that Shim Eun-jin, formerly of Baby V.O.X, and actor Jeon Seung-bin had completed their marriage registration and became a married couple.
Shim Eun-jin shared on social media, "As of today, I have become the spouse of Jeon Seung-bin. We first met through the MBC drama Bad Love, and after being colleagues and seniors/juniors, we realized our feelings for each other near the end of the drama. Since then, we have seriously considered each other and have come to this day."
Jeon Seung-bin also posted on social media, "Last year, someone warmly approached my heart. A person who made me have many thoughts, fears, and desires. I felt I must not let go of that hand. I held that hand and have been seriously dating," announcing the marriage news.
