[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] Twenty Korean small and medium venture companies won Innovation Awards at CES, the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition held in the United States.

On the 13th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that 20 Korean small and medium venture companies received Innovation Awards at 'CES 2021,' which was held fully online from the 11th. The Innovation Award is given by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes CES, to innovative products and technologies.

At this CES, a total of 29 domestic companies, including mid-sized and large enterprises, received Innovation Awards. A Ministry of SMEs and Startups official stated, "70% of the total award-winning companies are small and medium venture companies," adding, "This clearly demonstrates the innovativeness of our startup companies."

Among the small and medium venture companies that received Innovation Awards, M2S (CEO Lee Taehwi), which developed a virtual reality ophthalmic examination device, won the 'Best Innovation Award,' given only to the highest technology among the Innovation Awards. In addition, Loopl (CEO Kim Yongdeok), which developed the artificial intelligence lighting 'Olli,' and SoftPV (CEO Ahn Hyunwoo), which developed the world's first spherical 3D ultra-small solar cell 'SoftCell,' also received Innovation Awards.
