Lee Kyung-kyu "A Situation Where Marriage Was Being Discussed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Amid marriage rumors surrounding Lee Ye-rim, the daughter of broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu and an actress, and her boyfriend, soccer player Kim Young-chan (Gyeongnam FC), Lee Kyung-kyu has spoken out.
On the 12th, Lee Kyung-kyu told Sports Chosun, "My daughter Ye-rim is preparing for her wedding in the second half of this year," adding, "I didn't expect it to become such a big topic. We were genuinely discussing marriage."
Regarding his future son-in-law Kim Young-chan, Lee Kyung-kyu told Sports Chosun, "My son-in-law is good at soccer and diligent. He is exactly to my liking. He treats me very well too."
The marriage rumors surfaced after Lee Kyung-kyu appeared on the show 'Ask Anything'.
On the 11th, Lee Kyung-kyu appeared on KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything' and drew a fortune. The flag depicted the bride and groom.
When Lee Soo-geun mentioned, "There will be good news from someone in the family this year," referring to the marriage fortune, Lee Kyung-kyu was surprised and said, "This is really accurate."
When Seo Jang-hoon said, "Something must be happening," Lee Kyung-kyu evaded, saying, "It's not something I'm doing."
Then Seo Jang-hoon probed, "It seems Ye-rim is getting married," and Lee Kyung-kyu replied, "I was also very surprised," repeatedly marveling at the fortune.
Although Lee Kyung-kyu was reserved and did not directly comment on Lee Ye-rim's marriage, online interest surged regarding whether Lee Ye-rim and Kim Young-chan would marry.
In response, neither Lee Ye-rim's agency nor Kim Young-chan's club gave a clear statement about the marriage rumors. Lee Ye-rim's exclusive contract with her agency Fides Spatium ended last year, and Gyeongnam FC, Kim Young-chan's club, stated, "We have not heard any specific information from the player (Kim Young-chan)."
Meanwhile, Lee Ye-rim gained recognition after appearing on SBS's 'Please Take Care of My Dad' in 2015 and debuted as an actress. She has since appeared in 'I Love You, Customer,' 'Ye-rim's General Truck,' 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty,' and 'Miss Complex,' among others.
Lee Ye-rim and Kim Young-chan have quietly continued their relationship since acknowledging their dating in June 2017.
