[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Eunji] Actor Park Eunseok made a strong impression from his first appearance in SBS's 'Penthouse.' He showcased the unique traits of Gu Hodong, a character who compromises with no one, with dragonfly glasses, shabby tracksuit fashion, discolored teeth, and unkempt long hair.

Park Eunseok, who was more sincere than anyone else about playing Gu Hodong, gave his all to the role with the mindset of "When else will I get to play such a role?" He consulted with a dentist to create Gu Hodong's teeth shape and worked with the makeup team to complete the design of decayed-looking teeth.

The back scratcher that Gu Hodong always carried around at Cheonga Arts High School was also Park Eunseok's idea. Moreover, Park Eunseok closely communicated with his stylist to create Gu Hodong's look that went against the times.

"Gu Hodong needed to look shabby. To create the vibe of half-worn clothes, I bought many items at thrift markets. For new clothes, I deliberately spilled hot sauce or kimchi juice on them. I scraped slippers with stones or recolored them with a magic pen to leave messy marks. I tried my best not to give off a new clothes feeling." (Park Eunseok's stylist, Director Lee Mi-young)

After throwing off the messy wig, Park Eunseok thrilled 'Penthouse' viewers with a contrasting visual. He transformed into Logan Lee, the CEO of Logan Lee Corporation boasting immense wealth and the adoptive older brother of Min Seol-ah (played by Jo Sumin), exuding a dandy mood and sharp charisma.

"Logan Lee is a friend who has been 'exposed to foreign influences.' To emphasize the feeling of a businessman from the U.S., we matched unique items rather than ordinary ones. To give a free-spirited image, we used cubic earrings and sunglasses. Since Logan Lee uses his hands a lot, we paid attention to accessories like rings. The outfit colors were matched tone-on-tone."

The fashion items symbolizing Logan Lee were scarves and leather coats. He styled classic yet trendy fashion with scarves in black, brown, and white colors, and revealed his superior physique with fitted leather outerwear.

"When I think of Logan Lee, I think of scarves. I wanted to show Logan Lee's style in scenes where he meets Joo Dan-tae (played by Um Ki-joon) or does business, so I used scarves then. When a situation called for a tie, instead of loosely fixing it, I tightened it firmly to show a flawless style. When Logan Lee rides a bike, I decided to match leather materials. I am grateful that viewers liked this fashion."

Meanwhile, Park Eunseok won the Best Supporting Actor award at the '2020 SBS Drama Awards' through 'Penthouse.'
