[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Kiwoom Securities announced on the 11th that it will provide real-time quotes for US stocks free of charge to all Kiwoom Securities customers without any conditions.
Previously, US stock quotes were basically provided with a 15-minute delay, and Kiwoom Securities customers had to pay $8 per month to view real-time US stock quote information.
Kiwoom Securities will provide real-time US stock quotes free of charge to all customers without a separate application process through a contract for the 'Nasdaq Basic' package with Nasdaq. Nasdaq Basic provides quote information for US-listed stocks (including ETFs on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, AMEX, etc.) based on order and execution information collected by four exchanges under Nasdaq (Nasdaq Stock Market LLC, Nasdaq BX, Nasdaq PHILX LLC, FINRA).
The free real-time quotes aggregate trading information from these four exchanges, so there is a difference in the amount of information compared to the paid real-time quotes that aggregate information from more than 10 exchanges. The existing $8 paid real-time quote service, which includes execution information from all US exchanges, will be maintained, and if there is at least one US stock execution record in the previous month, the $8 paid quote service will be provided free of charge the following month.
In addition, Kiwoom Securities is conducting various events for overseas stock trading customers. These include the '$40' event, which provides $40 trading support funds to new US stock customers with non-face-to-face accounts or customers dormant for 3 months; an overseas stock online trading commission rate of 0.1% and up to 95% preferential exchange rate event; an overseas stock deposit event where customers can receive up to 300,000 KRW in cash by depositing and trading; and an ongoing overseas stock real investment competition with a total prize of 22 million KRW.
