Authentication Completed Upon Entering Simple Password
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] With the Financial Certification Service of the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute (KFTC) now applied to the National Tax Service's Hometax and Sontax platforms, year-end tax settlement can be easily completed by simply entering a simple password.
Customers using the Financial Certification Service for the first time can obtain a financial certificate free of charge through their bank's internet or mobile banking and use it for all electronic transaction services where the Financial Certification Service is applied. Customers using the Financial Certification Service can complete authentication by selecting ‘Joint Certificate Login (formerly Public Certificate/Financial Certificate)’ on Hometax or ‘Financial Certificate Login’ on Sontax and then entering a simple password.
When connecting to the cloud on Hometax (PC), setting ‘Auto Connect’ or connecting to the cloud once on Sontax (mobile) allows users to skip the cloud connection process from the next use and authenticate with just a 6-digit simple password input, making it even more convenient.
Below is a Q&A on using the Financial Certification Service.
Q. Do I have to pay a fee to use the Financial Certification Service?
A. No. The Financial Certification Service is a certification service jointly provided by the KFTC and banks, and any bank customer using internet or mobile banking can use it free of charge.
Q. Do I have to visit each bank in person to obtain a Financial Certificate?
A. No. The Financial Certificate can be issued once per person through internet or mobile banking without visiting the bank in person and can be used for all electronic transaction services where the Financial Certification Service is applied. It can be issued within 3 minutes and is valid for 3 years.
Q. Can I no longer use the currently used Joint Certificate (formerly Public Certificate)?
A. No. You can continue to use the Joint Certificate you are currently using. For customers familiar with the existing Public Certificate, the Joint Certificate is supported in the same way as the Public Certificate.
Q. I currently have a Joint Certificate. Do I have to wait for its expiration to obtain a Financial Certificate? If I obtain a Financial Certificate, can I still use the Joint Certificate?
A. No. The Financial Certificate can be issued once per person separately from the Joint Certificate, and the Joint Certificate can still be used independently from the Financial Certificate.
