[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] IA Networks, which is conducting business related to quantum encryption, is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that China Telecom (中國電信), one of the three major telecommunications operators in China, is launching a pilot service for quantum encrypted communication.
As of 11:06 AM on the 8th, IA Networks is trading at 1,835 KRW, up 5.46% from the previous day.
According to the South China Morning Post on the previous day, China Telecom is launching a pilot quantum encrypted communication service using a special SIM card and a smartphone app. The service will first start in Anhui Province, China, and customers who want to use the pilot service can apply for a SIM card from China Telecom.
This technology is a service that prevents someone from eavesdropping on call contents. It was developed by a joint venture established last November between China Telecom and the quantum communication company QuantumCTek Group. China Telecom plans to first provide this service to special operators requiring security such as defense, finance, and government, and it is also known that they plan to release smartphones supporting quantum encrypted communication in the future.
IA Networks is conducting quantum security-related business based on its patented ultra-small chip packaging technology. They have developed a 2.5x2.5x0.8mm ultra-small mobile QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) chipset packaging technology and commercialized this technology in the world's first 5G quantum security smartphone, the ‘Galaxy A Quantum’.
