LH, First Public Enterprise under Central Government to Obtain 'Fair Trade Practice Company' Certification

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 8th that it has become the first public enterprise under the central government to obtain the 'Fair Trade Practice Company' certification.

A Fair Trade Practice Company is a company that fulfills social responsibility through campaigns promoting fair trade and the use of fair trade products, certified through evaluation by the Korea Fair Trade Village Committee. So far, 11 local governments, 4 companies, and 4 schools have obtained the certification.

In line with the expansion of overseas projects, LH has been conducting activities such as solidarity campaigns with related organizations, hosting forums, and educational promotions since 2018 to spread the values of international human rights respect and fair trade.

In 2019, LH signed a Fair Trade Practice Company promotion agreement to establish a cooperative foundation with the private sector. LH plans to continue realizing social value by collaborating with various entities to carry out education and promotional campaigns on fair trade and consistently using related products.

An LH official stated, "As the largest ordering institution in the country and a leading institution for social value, we will fulfill our social responsibility to ensure that a culture of fair trade spreads throughout society."
