Seoul City Recruiting 35 Members for Citizen Hall Performance and Exhibition Planning Team


[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 8th that it will recruit 35 citizen cultural planners who will actively participate in everything from program planning to operation at Seoul Citizen Hall from March to the end of the year.


Applicants can download the application form from the Citizen Hall website by the 1st of next month and submit it via email. The eligibility criteria include experience related to performances, exhibitions, education, or campaigns experience in executing cultural planning projects ability to attend regular meetings for divisions and common projects ability to engage in continuous and active activities for one year, with applicants meeting at least one of these four criteria.


After document screening, interviews will be conducted in mid-February, and the final successful candidates will be announced on February 26 through the Citizen Hall website.


The selected planning team will be divided into four divisions: ▲Plaza (performances and festivals) ▲Sympathy (planned exhibitions) ▲Companionship (education and campaigns) ▲Communication (citizen workshops), participating not only in program planning that reflects citizens' voices but also in the overall operation of Citizen Hall, including division-specific projects.


The planning team will be provided with execution funds and activity supplies to realize their programs, and to help expand and gradually promote their plans, they will be connected with experts who have rich field experience and offered educational opportunities. They will also have time for exchanges such as workshops and networking parties.


The planning meetings and education sessions of the planning team will be conducted non-face-to-face via the online video conferencing platform Zoom to comply with social distancing measures due to the spread of COVID-19.


Meanwhile, a total of 287 citizen planners have been active at Seoul Citizen Hall from 2014 to 2020. Last year, the 7th citizen planning team produced and operated various content while maintaining social distancing through non-face-to-face activities, offering warm comfort and unique enjoyment to citizens exhausted by COVID-19.
