[Featured Stock] Seoul Viosys Achieves 99% COVID-19 Sterilization... Technology Improved from 30 Seconds to 1 Second

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Seoul Viosys is showing strong performance. The news that it has secured technology capable of instantly sterilizing not only flowing air and water but also patient occurrence areas and hospital rooms where patients stayed appears to be influencing its stock price.

As of 9:36 AM on the 7th, Seoul Viosys was trading at 22,000 KRW, up 14.29% (2,750 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.

In a sterilization experiment conducted last December at KR Biotech Disease Control Research Institute, it was confirmed that the improved technology of Bioleds sterilized the novel coronavirus by 99.437% in just one second. KR Biotech Disease Control Research Institute is one of the specialized domestic testing institutions for novel coronavirus sterilization.

The sterilization experiment was conducted by irradiating light for 1, 3, and 5 seconds respectively using the Bioleds module that utilizes ultraviolet (UV) light to verify the reduction rate of the novel coronavirus. The results confirmed inactivation efficacy of 99.437%, 99.739%, and 99.823%, respectively.

Bioleds is a new concept optoelectronic semiconductor technology that can safely use UV light, serving as a light source that can replace the UV mercury lamps mainly used previously.

The global market research firm YOLE Development predicted growth to approximately 3.0339 trillion KRW by 2025.

A Seoul Viosys official explained, “The third wave of COVID-19 continues, and even with vaccines, the risk of virus mutations and variants persists,” adding, “In the United States, nearly ten thousand deaths occur annually due to cold viruses despite cold vaccine inoculations.” He continued, “As hundreds of millions worldwide are exposed to various diseases, personal quarantine is now necessary, and disinfection by clean light rather than chemical sterilization will become the global standard.”
