A representative of the broadcasting company where Mr. A worked stated on the 5th, "As of today, Mr. A, who was in a management position, has been dismissed." At the disciplinary committee held that day, the highest level of disciplinary action, dismissal, was unanimously decided.

This measure appears to have been taken due to the growing public outrage over the incident and the disclosure of the personal information of the adoptive parents of the victim child.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office indicted Mr. A without detention last December on charges of abandonment and neglect. Mr. A's wife was indicted and detained on charges of child abuse resulting in death.
