Galaxy S21 Ultra S Pen and Cover Images Revealed
Closer in Size to Galaxy Tab S Pen, Larger and Longer than Note S Pen
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The S Pen for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and a case that can store both have been leaked. The S Pen, which supports the Galaxy S series for the first time, has a design closer to the Galaxy Tab S Pen than the Note series.
On the 4th (local time), German IT media WinFuture revealed images of the S Pen and official cover case for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The S Pen for the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be sold separately as an additional accessory. Since the Galaxy S21 device itself does not have an S Pen storage slot, an official case that can store the S Pen will also be released.
The S Pen design is similar to the Galaxy Tab S7 S Pen. The Note series S Pen, which must be carried inside the device, is thin and small, whereas the tablet S Pen is large and thick because it is attached to the device for storage, making it comfortable to hold. However, the added space the pen occupies in the case increases the volume and weight, which is a downside.
Looking inside Samsung Electronics' official cover case for the Galaxy S21, there is a space on the left side of the smartphone to store the S Pen. It appears to be placed on the left side to prevent loss. Like a tablet case, the cover can be folded back to work on the large screen of the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The Galaxy S21 S Pen supports gesture recognition just like the existing S Pen and supports presentation scrolling, photo shooting, preview, and more. It is also possible to save S Pen settings and favorites through the Samsung Notes app.
The price is expected to be set around 40,000 KRW. Currently, the S Pen for the Galaxy Note20 sold by Samsung Electronics is 40,000 KRW, and the price of the Galaxy Tab S7 S Pen is 50,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics will hold an unpacked event unveiling the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Buds Pro from midnight on the 15th Korean time. The Galaxy S21 series will be released in three models: the 6.2-inch Galaxy S21, the 6.7-inch Galaxy S21 Plus, and the 6.8-inch Galaxy S21 Ultra, with the S Pen supported only on the Ultra model.
