Samyang Tongsang Halts Production at Gunpo Factory Due to COVID-19 Confirmed Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Samyang Trading announced on the 4th that it will temporarily suspend operations at its Gunpo factory due to a confirmed case of COVID-19. The sales amount affected by the production halt is 189.8 billion KRW, which accounts for 98.8% of the sales in 2019.

The company stated, “We are conducting disinfection activities, and close contacts are undergoing COVID-19 testing and self-quarantine,” adding, “We will maximize the use of our subsidiary’s Qingdao factory in China to expand domestic consignment production and utilize existing inventory to respond to urgent orders.” The planned date for resuming production is the 15th of this month.
