Songpa Dullegil 'Jangji Park Early Childhood Forest Experience Center' Renovated Adventure Playground

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced that the Songpa Dullegil 'Jangji Park Infant Forest Experience Center' has completed remodeling construction and has been transformed into a play space with a pleasant and safe environment.

The 'Jangji Park Infant Forest Experience Center' was established in November 2013 within Jangji Park, covering an area of 8,000㎡, to provide young children living in the city with opportunities to directly experience nature through forest activities and grow healthily.

Located on the 'Jangjicheon-gil' section of Songpa Dullegil, the 'Jangji Park Infant Forest Experience Center' boasts a pleasant natural environment with dense forests, making it a popular place for families as children can enjoy playing in the soil and experiencing nature.

Accordingly, the district has maintained the old facilities and additionally created infant play spaces since September last year to provide a safe and pleasant park environment for residents, linking with the Songpa Dullegil project to organize a more diverse space.

In particular, this construction introduced new play facilities with themed characteristics such as ▲ 'Kungjjak Kungjjak Music Playground' using natural materials like log drums and bamboo xylophones ▲ 'Omuljomul Playhouse' where children can expand their imagination ▲ 'Palang Palang Wind Playground' equipped with a single-log bridge and wooden telescope.

Also, insect models such as butterflies and ladybugs were attached to the previously plain exterior walls of the infant forest classroom building, and colorful rainbow-colored logs were placed throughout to add elements that infants can find fun and interesting.

In addition, flowering trees such as azaleas and spiraea were newly planted around the play space so that children can physically feel the changes of the seasons and find playthings in nature to play together.

The newly renovated 'Jangji Park Infant Forest Experience Center' is open as an open space and anyone can use it freely. Starting from March, a professional experience program guided directly by infant forest instructors will be operated targeting daycare centers and kindergartens.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "I hope the newly renovated infant forest experience center will become a space where children, whose activities have been restricted due to COVID-19, can freely run and interact with nature," and added, "We will continue to actively expand experiential facilities and infrastructure for children so that they can grow up bright and healthy."
