[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk won the Grand Prize at MBC's Entertainment Awards this year, as everyone expected.
On the 29th, Yoo Jae-suk received the Grand Prize at the '2020 MBC Entertainment Awards' held at the MBC Open Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul. This marks Yoo Jae-suk's first MBC Grand Prize in four years since 2016.
Yoo Jae-suk was considered a strong candidate for the Grand Prize due to his outstanding performances as numerous characters such as Ssaksseuri Jimmy Yoo and Refund Expedition Jimmy Yoo on MBC's 'How Do You Play?' in 2020.
Kim Sung-joo said, "I think Yoo Jae-suk will win," and Kim Gu-ra also stated that there were no other strong candidates besides Yoo Jae-suk, saying, "Even after looking thoroughly, there is no one else."
In his acceptance speech, Yoo Jae-suk said, "I don't know how to express my gratitude," adding, "I never thought I would receive the Grand Prize again after 'Infinite Challenge.' I thank my parents, father-in-law, and mother-in-law. Above all, I am grateful to Na Kyung-eun, whom I love."
He continued, "I am very proud and thankful to be Na Kyung-eun's husband. We have two children; Ji-ho is in the 4th grade of elementary school, and the youngest is 3 years old. They are probably sleeping now, but I want to say I love Ji-ho and Na-eun."
Yoo Jae-suk said, "There is a phrase I repeat when starting a program. Whatever the outcome, I accept it and take responsibility. I started 'How Do You Play?' with that mindset and am still doing so."
He also mentioned the MBC recruited comedian juniors, saying, "I hope a small stage can be created where our comedian juniors, who are living their lives fiercely, can dream even for a moment."
