[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] LPG specialist company E1 announced on the 29th that it has completed the construction of a 500kW-class solar power generation facility at its LPG storage base located in Incheon and has started commercial operation.
E1 owns LPG storage bases in three locations in Korea: Incheon, Yeosu, and Daesan. The solar power generation facility was installed on the rooftops of buildings such as the office building within the Incheon base, as well as on idle land and parking lots. Pre-inspections, including usage inspections and meter sealing, were completed before starting power production. It is estimated that the solar power generation facility at the Incheon base will produce enough electricity to supply approximately 180 households.
E1 is expanding its business into the renewable energy sector, taking a step forward from the LPG business. Starting with a small-scale 90kW solar power generation using a closed gas station site in 2018, the company completed an 8MW-class solar power plant in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, in June of this year.
E1 also plans to promote a distributed solar power generation project of about 1MW by utilizing the roofs of approximately 30 LPG charging stations, and actively plans to expand small- and medium-scale solar power generation projects using the company’s idle land.
