[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Economic and Humanities Research Council under the Prime Minister held its 293rd board meeting on the 28th and announced the appointment of Professor Ryu Jang-su of the Department of Economics at Pukyong National University as the 9th President of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
President Ryu has previously served as the Chair of the Ministry of Education's University Structural Reform Committee, Chair of the Minimum Wage Commission, member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, and advisor to the Advisory Committee of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
The new president's term is three years, and he will be evaluated annually by the Economic and Humanities Research Council on management performance and research achievements.
The appointment ceremony will be held on the 29th.
