Buulkyung Professors Tennis Association Sponsors Tennis Prospects at Dongnae Middle and Guseo Girls' Middle Schools

Members of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Professors' Tennis Association delivered scholarship supplies to tennis club students of Dongnae Middle School and Guseo Girls' Middle School at Dongnae Middle School on December 22.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Professors Tennis Association (President Jang Jong-wook, Professor of Computer Engineering at Dong-Eui University) delivered scholarship goods worth 2 million KRW to tennis club students of Busan Dongnae Middle School and Guseo Girls' Middle School at the principal's office of Dongnae Middle School at 4 p.m. on December 22.

The association, together with the Busan City Tennis Association (President Kim Young-chul), has been holding a friendship tennis tournament for professors of four-year universities in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions every October 9 since 2018 and supporting local community tennis hopefuls. This year, due to COVID-19, the tennis tournament was canceled, and only sponsorship activities were conducted.

Last year, they delivered goods worth about 1.2 million KRW, including Babolat player tennis shoes, Vitro socks, and sports goods gift certificates, to the tennis club of Dangpyeong Elementary School located in Dangam-dong, Busanjin-gu. Companies and organizations such as the Korea Professors Tennis Federation, Uju Telecom, Babolat, and Vitro participate in this effort.

Jang Jong-wook, president of the association and professor of computer engineering at Dong-Eui University, said, “We select tennis hopefuls who are diligently preparing for the future by balancing tennis and studies in difficult circumstances and provide them with small support. We plan to further expand the sponsorship culture.”
