Repair Completed for 54 Households... Improved Residential Environment Enhances Beneficiary Satisfaction
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 22nd that in 2020, it invested 570 million KRW in the Household Repair and Maintenance Project for housing benefit recipients, completing repairs for 54 households (17 minor repairs, 6 moderate repairs, 31 major repairs).
This project is an in-kind benefit program that supports customized housing repairs centered on recipients by selecting beneficiaries differentially according to the housing deterioration assessment to stabilize the housing environment and improve housing standards for recipients in poor housing conditions. The repair costs per household range from 4.57 million KRW for minor repairs, 8.49 million KRW for moderate repairs, to 12.41 million KRW for major repairs.
The repair cycle for each repair range is 3 years, 5 years, and 7 years respectively, and within the support amount, cooling equipment, move-in cleaning, and disinfection support are also available.
Since February, the county has signed a consignment agreement with the LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters and has been promoting the project by establishing an organic cooperation system. Although the project was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, visits and housing repairs were safely completed while complying with quarantine guidelines.
Governor Kim San said, “Although we conduct the repair and maintenance project every year, there are still many vulnerable households in need of housing repairs,” and added, “We will strive to stabilize residents’ housing by supporting various housing welfare services.”
