[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it designated Gwangju Suwan Mirae Children's Hospital and Gwangsan Hana Children's Hospital as Respiratory Specialized Clinic Centers on the 21st.
The Respiratory Specialized Clinic Center is a system that designates hospitals that operate by separating the movement paths and treatment spaces of patients with respiratory disease symptoms to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that citizens visiting hospitals for treatment can feel safe.
The two hospitals designated by Gwangsan-gu this time have separate entrances for patients with respiratory symptoms, and have installed negative pressure facilities in respiratory treatment spaces such as waiting rooms, examination rooms, X-ray rooms, and treatment rooms. Medical staff working at the centers wear masks, face shields, disposable gowns, gloves, and other protective equipment during treatment.
In addition, if COVID-19 is suspected before or after treatment, samples are collected in a separately isolated specimen collection room and requested for testing at the district screening clinic, and a rapid diagnostic kit testing system is also introduced and operated.
A Gwangsan-gu official said, “We designated two centers so that citizens can use hospitals with peace of mind from the threat of COVID-19,” and added, “We plan to designate about three hospitals as Respiratory Specialized Clinic Centers in January next year.”
