KT Strengthens 'Cloud One Team' Ecosystem

KT, Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, and the practical team of Hancom are discussing ways to expand the cloud ecosystem through a non-face-to-face meeting after signing an MOU.

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Hangul and Computer, Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center, and Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center have joined KT's 'Cloud One Team.' The four companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate in strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic cloud ecosystem.

According to KT on the 22nd, Cloud One Team operates through ▲ECO Win-Win Support Group, ▲Industrial Innovation Division, ▲Solution Innovation Division, and ▲R&D Innovation Division. Through this MOU, Gyeonggi and Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Centers will join the ECO Win-Win Support Group, and Hangul and Computer will join the Solution Division.

The participating companies and institutions agreed to prioritize discovering business models that domestic cloud companies can pursue together within Cloud One Team. Through this, they plan to distribute native cloud services equipped with technology, economic feasibility, and stability. Additionally, each participating institution will identify and undertake various tasks in fields such as research and development (R&D), core technology development, and leading cloud service application cases.

Last month, KT formed Cloud One Team with 16 companies and institutions from industry, academia, and research to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic cloud industry ecosystem. With the addition of these three institutions, Cloud One Team now includes a total of 19 organizations. They plan to maintain an open ecosystem and continuously expand participating institutions.

Lee Mi-hee, Head of KT Cloud/DX Business Division, said, “We welcome and thank the three new institutions joining Cloud One Team,” and added, “KT will contribute to expanding Korea’s native cloud ecosystem through support for Cloud One Team and take the lead in driving digital innovation.”
