[Asia Economy Reporter Nana Han] A YouTuber uploaded videos abusing several cats in different ways.
The YouTube channel set a profile picture showing a cat with its neck caught in a rope. In the channel description, it stated, "People who treat killing wild cats the same as murderers are actually murderers themselves."
This YouTuber posted four videos abusing cats in various ways. The abuse included trapping cats in cage-like traps and shaking them, taping their front paws together, lifting them by their tails, and poking a cat that had collapsed in pain with a stick while laughing.
One video titled "Zombie Cat That Became a Zombie" showed the tormenting of cats. Some cats cried out in pain and distress.
Netizens and members of cat cafes expressed outrage, commenting, "I am angry and shaken to the core. It’s so distressing I can’t sleep at night," "Animal protection laws need to be strengthened," and "Please don’t click on the videos just because the views are rising."
Famous pet cat YouTuber '22ttonggyaengine' posted on Instagram on the 20th, saying, "Someone is openly posting animal abuse videos on YouTube, and the video title seems to target me, calling it '44ttonggyaengine'." They added, "Seeing the suffering cats broke my heart."
'22ttonggyaengine' reported the YouTuber for animal abuse and appealed for support to agree to a petition so that the cyber investigation unit can delete the videos.
Meanwhile, on the Blue House National Petition Board, a petition titled "Request for Investigation and Punishment of the Stray Cat Abusing YouTuber" was posted. The petitioner urged, "I request a swift investigation and strict punishment to prevent further victims." The petition has already gathered over 16,000 preliminary approvals and is under review by administrators.
