[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kim Hwansik, CEO of Hanjoong NCS, has been inaugurated as the 3rd president of the KONEX Association.

The KONEX Association announced on the 17th that it held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 2nd president Kim Gunho and the 3rd president Kim Hwansik at the Korea Exchange Seoul Office in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. As F&Guide, where the 2nd president Kim Gunho serves as CEO, was transferred to the KOSDAQ market on the 17th, Kim Hwansik was appointed as the 3rd president.

Former president Kim Gunho said, "The KONEX market, which was launched amid much interest and concern, has been able to establish itself as a pillar of the Korean capital market thanks to the members who have worked together over the past seven years," adding, "I hope the association will continue to serve as a focal point to promote the mutual development of the market and its members."

President Kim Gunho served for about seven years from July 2014. During his term, he actively voiced for institutional improvements such as lowering the basic deposit for the KONEX market and tax benefits for listed companies, laying the foundation for the association to become a focal point for its members.

Newly appointed president Kim Hwansik responded, "I am grateful for the efforts of the former presidents and will carry on their legacy," adding, "I will seek various ways to enable members and the market to grow together."

Kim Hwansik, a former government official, founded Hanjoong NCS Co., Ltd. in 1995. In 2016, he was awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to technological innovation. This year, he received the "7th KONEX Awards Best Management Award." He has also demonstrated flexibility in external activities and organizational management by serving as president of the Daegyeong Convergence Federation, president of the Main Biz Association, and director of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Network Project Group.
