[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who declared his candidacy for Seoul mayor, criticized Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, for his public apology on the 15th, calling it a "proxy apology" and stating, "The two former presidents, Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, have said nothing."

On the afternoon of the same day, Woo said on Facebook, "An apology is made by the person who did wrong," and added, "The actual people remain silent, so can this proxy apology move the hearts of the people?"
Regarding the apology, he said, "It is late but fortunate," but also pointed out, "However, the pro-Park (pro-Park Geun-hye) faction within the People Power Party, who were with former President Park, still oppose this apology."
He continued, "Can an apology made solely by the emergency committee chairman, without gathering the hearts of all members, truly be considered a sincere apology?" and emphasized, "I cannot erase the feeling that it ended up as a half-hearted apology."
Woo also added, "I urge the People Power Party to sincerely reform themselves through this apology."
