Seoul City to Develop Public Knowledge Industry Center and Apartment Complex in Magok

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] A 14-story public-type knowledge industry center and 227 units of multi-family housing will be built in the Magok Industrial Complex in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

On the 10th, Seoul City announced that it held a construction committee meeting on the 8th and conditionally approved the architectural plan for the knowledge industry center (D15) included in the 'Public-type Knowledge Industry Center and Construction-type Challenge Dormitory Complex Development Project' within the Magok Urban Development Project Zone.

The site is located in Gangseo-gu within the Magok Urban Development Project district unit planning area, consisting of industrial facility land (D15) of 9,080㎡ and support facility land (Ds13) of 3,869㎡. This project is a complex development project supplying office spaces within a 14-story aboveground and 4-story underground knowledge industry center, 48 dormitory units, and 227 construction-type challenge dormitory units.

The project site is adjacent to Olympic-daero and Nambu Sunhwan-ro, and is close to Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station on Subway Line 9 and Balsan Station on Line 5, providing excellent metropolitan accessibility. Various support facilities are composed for tenants of the knowledge industry center corporate spaces, including strategic startup company spaces, prototype production spaces, dormitories, and neighborhood living facilities on the 1st and 2nd floors.

Kim Seong-bo, Head of the Housing and Architecture Headquarters, said, “Through the public-type knowledge industry center and construction-type challenge dormitory complex development project, we aim to promote residential stability and improve housing standards for residents in the southwestern region, and expect to realize a mixed-use space for work and residence that aligns with the development direction of the Magok General Industrial Complex.”
