Yujin Corporation Receives Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award for Concrete Technology Contributions

Recognition for Leading Innovation in Concrete Technology Including Eco-friendly Remicon and Smart Factory

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Eugene Corporation has produced both technology contributors and award winners in the concrete technology competition who have contributed to the development of the concrete industry this year.

Eugene Corporation announced that on the 9th, at the '2020 Concrete Technology Competition and Technology Contributor Awards Ceremony' held at the SC Convention Center in the Korea Science and Technology Center, Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, Manager Kim Jin-wook (Eugene Corporation Seo Seoul Plant) was selected as a technology contributor and received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award.

Now in its 27th year, the 'Concrete Technology Competition' is the largest domestic event in the field of concrete technology and quality, hosted by the Korea Conformity Laboratories and the Korea Concrete Institute. The event is divided into quality sections (general and student divisions) and innovation sections in the structural field (student division), and also rewards contributors recognized for significantly advancing concrete technology.

Kim Jin-wook, who received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award as a technology contributor, is an expert who has worked in the concrete technology field for 24 years. He was recognized for his dedication to improving concrete quality, process enhancement, and nurturing successors, contributing to quality management and establishing safety in production sites in the ready-mixed concrete industry. In addition, he was highly evaluated for his multifaceted contributions to concrete research and development, having conducted 12 collaborative research projects with the company’s technology research institute and construction companies, and publishing numerous technical materials.

Kim Jin-wook said, "I feel even more honored to receive this award as a result of my continuous efforts to be faithful to my given work," and added, "I will continue to strive through internal and external exchanges and cooperation for innovation in concrete technology."

This year, Eugene Corporation not only had a technology contributor but also won awards in the technology competition. The 'EUGENE-NORTH team' belonging to Eugene Corporation won the Bronze Prize of the Korea Conformity Laboratories President’s Award in the general division of the quality section of the Concrete Technology Competition, proving the excellent quality reliability of the company’s products.

Meanwhile, Eugene Corporation is leading technological innovation in the concrete industry by accelerating the development of eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete. In 2018, it was the first in the industry to obtain the 'Low Carbon Product' certification, a stage 2 certification of the 'Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)' for the '25-24-150' ready-mixed concrete standard. Since then, it has established a lineup of six low-carbon certified ready-mixed concrete products, leading the eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete market.
