[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Russian-born terrorist who was beheaded by a teacher in France and shot dead by the police was buried in a village in his hometown of Chechnya.

According to Russian media such as Newsru on the 7th (local time), Abdulla Anzorov, who was shot dead after beheading a teacher last October for allegedly insulting the Islamic prophet Muhammad, was transferred to and buried in the Shalazhi village of the Urus-Martanovsky district in the Chechen Republic.

The body was transported to Chechnya via Turkey a few days ago, and it is reported that about 200 people, including family members, attended the funeral. Since the arrival of the body, the village has been completely sealed off due to COVID-19 quarantine measures.

Local media reported that access was restricted on the day of the funeral, and police were deployed around the village to maintain strict security.

Anzorov was born in a Chechen village, lived in Moscow, and then in France. In March, he received a residence permit from the French government valid until 2030. After the terrorist incident, the Russian Embassy in France claimed that Anzorov had lived in France for the past 12 years and had no connection with Russia.

On October 16th, Anzorov beheaded Samuel Paty, a middle school teacher near Paris, France, and was then shot dead by the police.
