Korean Publishers Association Publishes 'Copyright Manual for Creators and Editors'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Korea Publishers Association announced on the 7th that it has published the 'Copyright Manual for Creators and Editors.'

The Korea Publishers Association established a Copyright Committee last year, recognizing the need for deeper and more meticulous consideration of copyright amid the changes in the publishing environment driven by digitalization and globalization. This book was published through the committee's investigation, research, and discussions.

The book contains practical copyright information that creators and publishers must know and follow. It covers copyright issues from the birth of a manuscript to publishing contracts and overall editing. It provides detailed explanations of the process from contract to publication for both domestic and foreign books, and also presents precautions to take when producing and distributing e-books and audiobooks. Additionally, it examines how to respond to copyright disputes through various cases of copyright infringement and remedies. It also thoroughly introduces key contract clauses and know-how for planning foreign books, including foreign book rights contracts and offers. The final chapter of the book addresses major issues frequently discussed in copyright disputes through various precedents related to copyright infringement and remedies.

Each section was written by experts with extensive experience in copyright law and publishing practice, and the book's completeness was enhanced through detailed consultations with copyright specialists in each field.
