WI, License Agreement with Italian Scooter Brand 'Vespa'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Double U I, a company listed on KOSDAQ, announced on the 7th that it has signed an official license agreement with Vespa, the luxury scooter brand under the Italian Piaggio Group.


Double U I was the first in Asia to sign a license agreement with German Mercedes-Benz and recently launched related products. By adding Vespa to its product lineup, it plans to strengthen its mobility accessory business in the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets next year.


A Double U I official said, "As non-face-to-face (untact) consumption increases due to the impact of COVID-19, the micro-mobility scooter market and related industries are gradually growing," adding, "We can utilize the Vespa brand for about 10 products, including scooter-specific mounts and black boxes."


First launched in 1946, Vespa is known as the scooter ridden by Audrey Hepburn in the movie 'Roman Holiday.' It has secured many enthusiasts worldwide with its classic design and emotional marketing. It continues collaborations with luxury brands like Christian Dior and sports brands like Adidas.


Byun Ikseong, CEO of Double U I, said, "We will reflect the sensibility of the Italian luxury scooter brand Vespa in various products to provide new value to customers," and added, "Along with the recently launched Mercedes-Benz products, we plan to expand and establish a luxury mobility accessory lineup next year."


Double U I is conducting various businesses based on intellectual property (IP). It has launched various products using characters such as Kakao Friends and Pengsoo, including cases, humidifiers, portable batteries, portable fans, and Bluetooth microphones. The company has also expanded its business into the e-sports field.
