Fairmont Hotel Opening Scheduled for February Unveils 'Penthouse'

Drama 'Penthouse' Filming Location Selection

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The new hotel 'Fairmont Ambassador Seoul,' set to open in February next year, has first met customers through the drama 'Penthouse.'

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced on the 7th that Fairmont Ambassador Seoul was selected as a filming location for the drama Penthouse. The hotel appears from episode 10 of the drama as the place where Logan Lee, a real estate tycoon and Korean-American, stays.

Sharon Cohen, Vice President of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said, "For over a century, Fairmont hotel staff worldwide have strived not only to meet but to exceed the expectations of all guests, including film and drama producers," adding, "Producers and directors often chose Fairmont as a luxurious location to fully showcase the area on camera."

Among Fairmont's iconic hotels, New York's 'The Plaza, Fairmont Managed Hotel' has been the filming site for the American dramas 'Sex and the City' and 'The Sopranos,' as well as the classic film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.' The American legal dramas 'Suits' and 'The Good Wife' were also filmed at 'Fairmont Royal York' and 'Fairmont Hotel Vancouver' in Toronto, Canada. In 2016, the drama 'Goblin' was filmed at 'Fairmont Le Ch?teau Frontenac' in Quebec, Canada, earning the nickname 'Goblin Hotel.'

Fairmont Ambassador Seoul is located in the Park One hotel building in Yeouido, Seoul. The hotel, near Yeouido Park, is accessible within a 5 to 10-minute walk from Yeouido Station and Yeouinaru Station on the subway, and Incheon International Airport is about an hour and a half away by car. Designed by renowned architect Sir Richard Rogers, it features 326 guest rooms, a rooftop terrace, spa, fitness center, swimming pool, conference hall, four restaurants, and the Fairmont Gold Lounge.
