The vote, which started on the 4th, allows each person to vote for up to three candidates and will continue until the 31st.
As of 7 PM on the 6th, 1,280 people have voted. The first place is Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, a graduate of the Department of Law, who received a total of 1,146 votes (89%).
The second place was taken by Yoon Hee-sook, a member of the People Power Party and an economics graduate, who received 423 votes, accounting for 33%.
The third place went to Geum Tae-seop, a former member of the Democratic Party and a law graduate, with 349 votes (27%).
The fourth and fifth places were respectively Jin Joong-kwon, a former professor at Dongyang University and an aesthetics graduate (289 votes, 22%), and Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People's Party and a medical graduate (249 votes, 19%).
A total of 16 candidates were listed in this vote. Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, and Jung Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, were also candidates.
The anonymous author who posted this voting article identified themselves as "an alumnus who conducted the 'Shameful Alumni Award Vote' in 2019 and the first half of 2020," and stated, "Candidates were selected based on alumni frequently mentioned between July 1 and November 30 of this year using the news big data analysis system BigKinds."
Meanwhile, on Seoul National University's SNU Life, votes for the Shameful Alumni Award and Proud Alumni Award are held in the first and second halves of the year, respectively.
In the '2020 Second Half Shameful Alumni Award' held last July, former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk took first place with 90% of the votes. Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation (54%), and former Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan (45%) followed in second and third places.
Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk also took first place with 86.9% of the votes in the '2019 First Half Shameful Alumni Award.'
