Signiel Seoul Obtains Certification from the World Cleanliness Industry Association

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] As hygiene and quarantine levels have emerged as key criteria for hotel selection this year, hotel ‘Signiel Seoul’ announced on the 6th that it has obtained the ’GBAC STAR (Global Biorisk Advisory Council Certification)’ awarded by ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association).

The GBAC STAR certification system is a certification given to facilities such as hotels, restaurants, and public places that have appropriate hygiene regulations and quarantine technologies. This certification system is supported by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, composed of experts in biological risk management, which provides about 20 core elements related to hygiene, including guidelines, training, standardization, and crisis management, step-by-step to help facilities implement systematic hygiene safety procedures.

Through this GBAC STAR certification, Signiel Seoul has been recognized as a hotel equipped with a higher level of environmental disinfection system. It is particularly meaningful that, even in the special environment of a super-tall building, the hotel exceeded all strict standards for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention according to GBAC guidelines, thereby implementing an appropriate environmental disinfection system.

A Lotte Hotel official said, “We are pleased that Signiel Seoul has obtained the internationally renowned GBAC STAR certification in the cleanliness industry, proving a pleasant environment for both customers and employees,” and added, “Starting with Signiel Seoul’s GBAC STAR certification, we will continue to strive to gain customers’ trust in hygiene and cleanliness across all chain hotels.”
