[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Jo Eun-san, who became known for criticizing the government through the "Seven Proposals at the Start of the Year" national petition, strongly criticized the appointment of Byun Chang-heum as Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, saying, "I already miss Minister Kim Hyun-mi."
On the 5th, Jo posted an article titled "Keep Kim Hyun-mi in Office" on his blog. He also criticized Byun Chang-heum, president of LH Corporation and the nominee to succeed Minister Kim Hyun-mi, for evaluating the Moon Jae-in administration's real estate policy as "above medium-high (中上)," saying, "It is not medium-high but rather close to ultra-bad (超惡) beyond the worst." He added, "It is even more astonishing that there are still people defending the three lease laws."
Jo sarcastically referred to Minister Kim and nominee Byun as "the neighborhood bakery lady" and "a homeless shelter meal server," respectively.
He said, "This person (nominee Byun) specializes in the nonsense of painting murals on alleys with no parking spaces under the guise of urban regeneration," and criticized, "A chef who should present delicious and diverse dishes with good ingredients tailored to the tastes of numerous consumers, including high-end course meals, ? la carte menus, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dozens of cocktails and beverages, apologized for not being able to bake bread (Kim Hyun-mi), and now claims to captivate customers' tastes by providing public meals with the minimum necessary nutrients (Byun Chang-heum)."
He also declared, "Jo Eun-san boldly asserts that housing prices will rise further."
He continued, "The supply of jeonse (long-term lease) will dry up even more. Meanwhile, monthly rents will also rise," and said, "I partially revise my previous statement that housing prices can stabilize only if policies change. Housing prices will stabilize only when the administration changes. This administration is hopeless."
Furthermore, he sarcastically said, "I, who once wrote a petition titled 'Dismiss Kim Hyun-mi,' now have to write a petition titled 'Keep Kim Hyun-mi in Office.' At least she was somewhat predictable," and added, "It’s absurd, but I already find myself starting to miss her."
