Gwangju Global Motors Conducts COVID Safety Training for Construction Site Managers and Others

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju Global Motors Co., Ltd. (GGM) has strengthened safety measures, including conducting special COVID-19 safety training.

On the 4th, according to GGM, CEO Park Kwang-tae visited the new automobile factory construction site in Bitgreen Industrial Complex in the morning and held an emergency safety training session for 60 people, including on-site safety managers, urging thorough implementation of flawless quarantine measures.

This training was a response to the spread of small-scale COVID-19 infections centered around large workplaces in Gwangju Metropolitan City.

On that day, CEO Park said, “As COVID-19 is spreading in Gwangju with confirmed cases occurring daily, it is a serious situation, so it is especially important to strictly follow quarantine rules on-site to prevent even a single COVID-19 case,” and urged, “Please refrain from making evening appointments, go straight home after work, wear masks properly, and wash your hands for more than 30 seconds.”

He continued, “If a single person’s negligence causes a COVID-19 case, all processes in the factory could come to a halt,” and added, “To prevent such a situation, the attention of each on-site worker is crucial, but especially on-site safety managers should take the lead in repeatedly reminding and practicing safety throughout the day.”

He also emphasized, “Currently, most construction work is nearing completion, and equipment installation is in full swing. Equipment installation is a much more difficult task than construction work, so more thorough preparation against safety accidents is necessary,” and stressed, “While completing the project on time is important, nothing is more important than safety, so please do not be careless or overexert yourselves and do your best to maintain safety.”

Meanwhile, GGM headquarters employees are also practicing COVID-19 response measures by fully canceling evening appointments and going straight home immediately after work, following the CEO’s special instructions.
