Achieved Highest Grade A in 'Audit Performance' Area... Also Awarded the 'Development Institution Award'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] In the '2019 Internal Audit Activity Review' conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) received the highest grade, 'A grade.'
The Board of Audit and Inspection conducted an 'Internal Audit Activity Review' on 142 institutions, including central administrative agencies, metropolitan local governments, public institutions, and city/provincial offices of education, evaluating 25 audit indicators across four areas (① Audit Infrastructure ② Audit Activities ③ Audit Performance ④ Follow-up Management), and announced the results in four grades (A to D).
In this year's 'Internal Audit Activity Review,' more points were given for efforts in preventive audits and less emphasis was placed on results-oriented audit activities.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education achieved the highest score in the 'Audit Performance' area and also received the 'Development Institution Award.'
This result is analyzed as a reflection of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's efforts toward preventive and open audits, such as expanding on-site support consulting audits, establishing a dedicated specific audit team for kindergartens, and building a citizen participation Two-Channel system.
Lee Il-kwon, the Audit Officer of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "We will not be satisfied with being selected as an A-grade institution but will focus on preventive audits that practically support the field."
