Ipapsoft's English Learning App 'Malhaeboca' Selected as Google Play's 'Self-Development App of the Year'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Ipopsoft (CEO Park Jongheum) announced on the 4th that its AI English learning application (app) ‘Malhaeboca’ has been selected as one of the top 5 ‘Self-Improvement Apps of the Year’ by Google Play.

‘Malhaeboca’ is an English learning app developed mainly by developers who have hit several games at Nexon, EA Korea, and others. It breaks away from simple rote memorization methods by combining gaming fun with AI and voice recognition technology, enabling personalized English vocabulary, listening, and speaking learning tailored to individual skill levels.

According to Ipopsoft, Google selected the app because it is a “wonderful app that makes the boring process of memorizing English words fun.” Ipopsoft explained, “Based on its proprietary AI review system, this app allows users to remember more than 1,000 words per month without forgetting even if they study only 20 minutes a day. It features a voice recognition system that corrects pronunciation habits unique to Koreans by analyzing and correcting phoneme-level pronunciation.”

‘Malhaeboca’ currently holds the highest score in the English learning category on the Google Play Store with a rating of 4.9 out of 5. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of daily users has surged 17 times compared to the first half of the year due to the trend of preferring non-face-to-face learning, and it continues to grow steeply at more than double every quarter.

Park Jongheum, CEO of Ipopsoft, stated, “We plan to further advance the automatic review system, which has received positive feedback from users, and to release new content in the first half of next year that allows immersive study of grammar and reading comprehension like a game.”
