Daegu Bank Launches Financial Authentication Service... Available on iPhone and PC Environments

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] DGB Daegu Bank announced on the 4th that, together with the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute, it will apply an improved financial authentication service that enhances the convenience of using the public certification service and strengthens security to IM Bank, mobile web, and internet banking.

Previously, the authentication service required entering a complicated password of more than 10 digits and installing separate apps or programs on PC environments. Now, users can authenticate immediately by entering only a 6-digit password at the moment authentication is needed, significantly reducing the hassle of installation. It can be used regardless of specific device environments such as OS or browser, allowing access from any channel on PC or mobile environments.

In the case of iPhone, due to iOS security policies, sharing certificates among multiple apps was difficult, requiring users to copy certificates for each app, which was inconvenient. DGB Daegu Bank has improved customer convenience by applying the financial authentication service on iPhone and PC environments for the first time in the financial sector.

The cloud storage of the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute, which stores financial certificates, allows anyone to easily yet securely manage financial certificates by simply entering the customer's name, mobile phone number, and date of birth, then setting a password. Additionally, the certificate validity period has been extended to 3 years, enabling long-term use and reducing the burden of certificate management for customers.

A DGB Daegu Bank official said, “As a cloud-based integrated bank financial certificate, the service, which stores certificates in the cloud without unnecessary program installation and allows device-independent use, is expected to enhance customer convenience.” He added, “DGB Daegu Bank, the first in the financial sector to apply financial certificate use for iPhone customers, will continue to build various high-quality service environments for customers.”
