Designated as 'Student Safety Special Period' for Intensive Inspection
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province held a video conference on the 3rd to establish a 'COVID-19 quarantine management system' in preparation for university-specific evaluations following the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and regular admissions.
The meeting was attended by 18 cities and counties and 26 universities within the province.
During the meeting, the formation of the 'Gyeongnam Quarantine Situation Management Team' was discussed, focusing on intensive inspections of multi-use facilities expected to be gathering spots for students immediately after the CSAT, as well as support measures for examinees preparing for university-specific evaluations.
Accordingly, the province designated the period from the 3rd to the end of this month as a 'Special Student Safety Period' and announced plans to concentrate efforts on infection prevention in karaoke rooms, PC rooms, academies, cafes, and other places frequently used by students.
Min Gisik, head of the Province's Integrated Education Promotion Team, emphasized, "Since many examinees are expected to gather for university-specific evaluations, focused quarantine measures around university areas are necessary. We ask for full efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 so that the admissions process can be safely completed."
The 26 universities in the province plan to proceed with their admissions processes by establishing their own COVID-19 quarantine plans.
