"Capture Home Party Demand" Lotte Department Store Hosts 'Christmas Market'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Lotte Department Store is holding a 'Christmas Market' at its main branch until the 20th, selling imported tableware and home decor products. This is because, as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation spreads across the country, it is expected that more customers will prepare home parties instead of various year-end gatherings this year.

Demand for imported tableware has been steadily increasing recently as the 'stay-at-home' lifestyle has prolonged and home parties and home camping have gained popularity. Sales of imported tableware at Lotte Department Store have also grown by 21% over the same period last year in the past three months despite the COVID-19 situation.

During this event, Villeroy & Boch tableware will be offered at a 40% discount. The Toy Delight plates (2P) are priced at 82,000 KRW, and the Santa mugs (2P) are priced at 52,000 KRW. Additionally, for the first time in Korea, the Toy Delight Bul, which assembles seven bowls and plates into one that can usually be used as a decorative item, is sold for 561,000 KRW.

The French home fashion brand Sia offers a variety of products to decorate spaces, from fully assembled Christmas trees to table wreaths for table settings. Representative products include a mini tree (39,000 KRW) and doll candle holders (18,000 KRW).

A cosmetics brand event, popular as Christmas gifts, will also be held. From the 4th to the 13th, over 40 brands including Lanc?me, Est?e Lauder, and L'Occitane will participate in the 'Holiday Cosmetic Collection' at cosmetics stores across all department store branches. Depending on the brand, Christmas editions will be sold in limited quantities, and gifts such as holiday calendars will also be provided. Est?e Lauder's 'Holiday Signature Makeup Set' and Lanc?me Holiday Beauty Box are priced at 150,000 KRW and 152,000 KRW, respectively.

Wines will also be sold in limited quantities. To celebrate this year's Christmas, Lotte Department Store is collaborating with the American boutique winery 'Clos Du Val' to sell a special edition wine in limited quantities. This wine is an 'Estate Cabernet Sauvignon' made exclusively from high-quality grapes grown in vineyards owned by 'Clos Du Val,' and features a customized bottle with special engraving. The price is 265,000 KRW.
