[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the 2nd, Pohang City announced that it received a happiness kit worth 120 million won from POSCO Pohang Steelworks at the city hall's main conference room to help local children have a warm winter.


The gift packages filled with quarantine supplies such as masks, hand sanitizers, and temperature measurement bands will be distributed to 1,600 children using local children's centers.


The POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation distributes necessary items to children during winter every year as part of its social contribution activities. This year, a ceremony for the donation of 1,000 blood donation certificates from Pohang Steelworks employees was also held.


Nam Soohee, head of Pohang Steelworks, said, "I thank everyone who participated for the local children, and I will continue to make efforts to spread the culture of sharing so that children can have healthy dreams and hopes."


Lee Gangdeok, mayor of Pohang City, said, "Despite the difficult economy, I appreciate POSCO's various social contribution activities and ask for continuous interest for the children who are the future of Pohang."
