Jeongeup-si "Low-Income Single Youth, Apply for Housing Benefits"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 2nd that it will accept advance applications for separate housing benefits payments for young adults in their 20s from households receiving housing benefits through the town, township, and neighborhood community centers until the 31st.

The separate housing benefits payment for youth is a system implemented to support stable independence by providing housing benefits separately to young adults from low-income households who live separately from their parents for purposes such as schooling and job seeking.

The advance application is for the youth separate housing benefits payment system, which will be implemented from January 1st next year, and applications can be submitted at any time even after the advance application period.

The eligible applicants are unmarried young adults aged 19 to under 30 within housing benefit recipient households who are registered residents in different cities or counties from their parents.

Applications can be made by visiting the town or township office or neighborhood community center in the area where the youth's parents reside and filling out the application form.

Online applications are planned to be available through ‘Bokjiro’ in the first half of next year.

If selected, rental benefits will be paid differentially according to the standard rent ceiling and income level of the areas where the parent and youth households respectively reside.

A city official said, “We will strive to promote and discover many citizens who can benefit in line with the annually expanding housing benefits system and the government’s housing welfare policies.”

Meanwhile, housing benefit recipients include rental households and owner-occupied households with median income at or below 45%. Rental households receive rental fee support, while owner-occupied households receive repair and maintenance support.
