[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 1st, the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that Gyeongsangnam-do was selected as an excellent local government and received the grand prize in the '2020 Regional Labor-Management-Government-Civil Cooperation Activation Project Performance Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The 'Regional Labor-Management-Government-Civil Cooperation Evaluation' is a system in which the Ministry of Employment and Labor annually discovers and awards outstanding metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide that have achieved exemplary results in activating regional labor-management-government-civil cooperation.

The 'Gimhae Workers' Workwear Joint Laundry,' opened in November 2019, was cited as a representative labor-management-government-civil cooperation case of the province, contributing to its selection as an excellent local government.

In addition, the province opened the 'Mobile Workers' Shelter' in December last year, and in March of the following year, it opened the 'Emotional Laborers' Rights Protection Center.' Furthermore, in June last year, it signed the 'Miryang Win-Win Regional Job Agreement,' which was recognized as an excellent case of labor-management-government-civil cooperation.

Jung Soon-geon, head of the provincial labor policy division, stated, “The Gyeongnam region is home to major domestic companies in the machinery, shipbuilding, and aerospace parts industries, and active labor movements are taking place simultaneously. Labor-management-government-civil cooperation is more important than anything else to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. In that sense, receiving the grand prize for labor-management-government-civil cooperation is even more meaningful. We will continue to strive to deeply engrain this tradition of cooperation in our region.”
