The Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Nodongil, Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 1st that it held the launch ceremony of the 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign' and officially started the campaign. The target amount is 7.9 billion won, and the Love Thermometer rises by 1 degree each time 1% of the sharing target amount, 79 million won, is raised. When the target amount is achieved, it reaches 100 degrees.
At the 'Love Thermometer' unveiling ceremony on this day, about 20 people including Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province; Nodongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae; Kim Han-jong, Chairman of Jeonnam Provincial Council; Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education; Kim Jae-gyu, Chief of Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency; and Noh Jin-young, Chairman of Jeonnam Social Workers Association, as well as heads of institutions and organizations in the province, broadcasters, and companies attended.
The event was held in a small-scale format in compliance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, including the first donation money delivery ceremony, distribution and vehicle delivery ceremony, and a drive-through fundraising campaign performance.
In particular, at this launch ceremony, a delivery ceremony was held to provide 54 vehicles to social welfare facilities with the funds raised last year.
Vehicles worth about 1.3 billion won, including compact cars, vans, and food trucks, were delivered to social welfare facilities in the province to provide transportation convenience to users of institutions with mobility difficulties and to improve accessibility to welfare services.
Also, at the first donation money delivery ceremony of the Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Hanbit Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Lee Seung-cheol) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Hyung-kwan) each donated a precious 100 million won, and the fundraising association demonstrated a newly introduced 'drive-through fundraising campaign' performance in the untact era of the COVID-19 situation.
Nodongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "This year, COVID-19 has brought many changes to our society," and added, "The fundraising association is also working together to create a safer support system from a macro perspective in response to these changes."
He continued, "Starting with the launch of the Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign, I ask for the interest and participation of the residents of the province so that the thread of hope can be connected to neighbors in need through sharing and support for 62 days."
The raised funds will be distributed to individuals in need of social welfare services and corporate institutions engaged in social welfare activities in the areas of ▲basic livelihood support ▲education and self-reliance support ▲housing environment improvement ▲health and medical support ▲psychological and emotional support ▲strengthening care support ▲communication and participation support ▲cultural gap support.
