Among the 8 new confirmed cases in Gyeongju, 7 tested positive after being classified as contacts related to the Yeungnam University Seoul lecturer's class in Gyeongsan on the 27th of last month.
In Gyeongju, after the 102nd confirmed case tested positive on the 28th of last month following contact with a confirmed case in Gyeongsan, 5 of his family and friends were confirmed positive on the 29th, and related confirmed cases spread to 3 on the 30th and 7 on the 1st. Within 4 days, the number of confirmed cases related to Yeungnam University in Gyeongju alone increased to 16.
The 2 new confirmed cases in Gimcheon City are citizens who were self-quarantined after contact with a confirmed case at a PC bang in Gimcheon on the 19th of last month.
In Pohang, one person was confirmed positive related to a visit to their home by a Seoul office worker. He was notified of contact with confirmed cases (Gangbuk-gu 194, 195) from Seoul City and tested positive after examination.
The number of confirmed cases from overseas inflow also increased by one. This confirmed case, residing in Gyeongju, tested positive after being examined following entry from Europe on the 28th of last month.
