Hosted by Incheon TP and others... 'Smart Tourism City Incheon Experienced Through Design' Theme
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '2020 Incheon International Design Fair (INDEF)' will be held online from the 3rd to the 6th of next month.
Under the theme "Incheon, a Smart Tourism City Experienced Through Design!", the event is hosted by Incheon City and co-organized by Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), Incheon Design Enterprise Association, and Incheon Industrial Design Association.
This event, welcoming visitors through spatial VR (virtual reality) and videos on the online exhibition site (http://indew.kr), will open on the 3rd with a smart tour online video fashion show planned by Professor Park Gukyung of Cheongun University and Unidesign Management Research Institute.
The online exhibition is organized into sections such as 'Theme Hall', 'Enterprise Hall', 'University Hall', 'Incheon Design Support Center Promotion Hall', 'International Exchange Hall', and 'Contest Hall'.
In the Theme Hall, visitors can see the unique works of over 40 craft artists from the Incheon area and the scenic views of islands such as Jawoldo and Deokjeokdo in Ongjin, Incheon. Visitors can also enjoy eco-friendly organic e-storybooks, animation webtoons featuring the Indangsu character, and noodle characters inspired by Incheon's noodle dishes.
In the Enterprise Hall, visitors can explore portfolios of 28 design companies from the Incheon area in detail. The University Hall exhibits 225 design works by students and graduates from six universities in Incheon, including Incheon National University, Incheon Catholic University, Gyeongin Women's University, Cheongun University, and Korea Polytechnics University.
The Incheon Design Support Center Promotion Hall showcases 24 excellent design products born through the Incheon Design Support Center, and the International Exchange Hall features over 80 works by overseas designers and professors.
Additionally, there will be an 'Online Startup Idea Presentation' through the video conferencing program ZOOM, and a collaborative creative design development program called the 'Design Concert Contest' that seeks innovative ideas to solve problems in daily life, neighborhoods, and society. Outstanding works from the Design Concert can be viewed in the Contest Hall.
An official from Incheon TP stated, "The Incheon International Design Fair has been a representative design event of Incheon since 2004," adding, "We expect this event to serve as a gateway to revitalize the design industry by increasing domestic and international interest in Incheon's smart tourism."
Incheon TP will operate the online exhibition site until the end of the year to facilitate more public viewing.
