[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Daechang Solution's stock price is on the rise. As the government announced plans to develop a Korean-style gas turbine and the market size is expected to expand, the company's participation in related projects has come into focus.
As of 10:26 AM on the 30th, Daechang Solution's stock price recorded 591 KRW, up 6.49% compared to the previous day. The government's announced measures to strengthen the competitiveness of the gas turbine industry appear to have acted as a positive factor.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a "Meeting to Strengthen the Competitiveness of the Gas Turbine Industry" at the Korea Midland Power Seoul Power Headquarters on the same day and announced these measures. The purpose is to strengthen the gas turbine industry to enhance the competitiveness of liquefied natural gas (LNG) power generation, which serves as a bridge between coal power and renewable energy. To localize gas turbines, which currently rely mostly on exports, the ministry plans to start developing a standard model, conduct research and development (R&D) for future-type gas turbines, and establish innovation clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises related to gas turbines in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. Through this, a gas turbine market worth 4.4 trillion KRW is expected to be created.
Earlier, in September, Daechang Solution signed a business agreement to revitalize the gas turbine industry with five major power producers including Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea South-East Power, Korea Midland Power, Korea Western Power, and Korea Southern Power, as well as private companies such as Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, NR Tech, Korea Lost Wax, Samjin Metal, and Unicorn System. Through this, Daechang Solution plans to provide LNG-related technologies and components. Last year, Daechang Solution supplied major cast components including compressors and gas turbine cases for the world's fifth large gas turbine model developed by Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction.
